ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO RELAX & ENJOY
This end wing of the house (an 1872 extension of it) is ideal for singles or couples. It is very private, nearly a full floor up with nobody underneath and only the roof and the sky above. You pass its kitchen and bathroom (with power shower over the bath) to enter its studio-type main room with barrel-vaulted ceiling. This room’s sleeping area, with double bed and bedroom furniture is up one end of its 25′ length below a high-set round window which gets the sun. Half-way down is the fireplace with open log fire and two easy chairs.
The settee (convertible to a 4′ single bed) and oak dining table face the tall arch-topped window with its views straight ahead onto colourful shrubs, up half-left through Scots pines to mountains and hills across the valley, and down half-right over the garden. At the opposite end of the room, the round window also brings colour into the room from up on the facing bank.
Two large radiators ensure adequate warmth in the coldest of weathers and you can retire to bed to the flickerings of logs if that is preferred to the electric radiant fire The quiet kitchen-model oil boiler with timer gives warmth there, heats the flat’s 3 radiators, and provides lashings of hot water.
